Home Start Inc. (HSI) Counseling Center

Who: Children, teens, adults, couples, and families
Goal: Promote healing, personal growth, healthy interpersonal relationships, and positive life transitions
How: Individual and group therapy sessions, adult survivors of child abuse support groups, assessment-based treatment and planning, counseling and psychotherapy, parent-child interaction therapy, play therapy, psychological testing, trauma treatment for victims of crime, trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy

Victims of Crime Counseling Services
"I was so lucky that cost was never an issue so my daughter always had someone
to talk to."
Who: Victims of sexual, physical abuse or neglect, domestic violence, assault, rape, kidnapping, homicide attempts with a police crime report or Child Protective Services (CPS) substantiation of child abuse
Goal: Offer counseling services to victims of crime who have exhausted all other sources of mental health therapy, including private health insurance
How: Provide adult, youth and family counseling and young children's play therapy to victims of crime

Child Abuse Treatment Program (CHAT)

Who: Children who are under age 18
Goal: Supply comprehensive treatment and therapy for child
victims of abuse or neglect
How: Crisis intervention and stabilization, intake and screening,
information and referral, assessment based treatment planning,
case management, advocacy, assistance with accessing state
funding for treatment, preparation and support children participating
in court proceedings and therapy.

Over 25 families with children 0-5 years-old helped
100% of children completing Parent Child Interaction Therapy
(PCIT) showed a reduction in behavioral problems.
100% of parents completing PCIT showed an increase in knowledge
of their child's health and development needs.

Who: Caregivers/parents with juvenile dependency court involved
children
Goal: Improves the relationship between parent and child and
teaches specific discipline strategies for improving compliance
How: Trained therapists coach caregivers through the use of
an earpiece as they interact with their children
